Austin Fashion Week

Last week I attended the Austin Fashion Week for the third year in a row.  While it has gotten better with each year, I must admit that it doesn't necessarily satisfy my fashion fix.  Hence the expression of myself and my two friends in the front row shot below.  Ha!  That being said, it is a thoroughly entertaining event that I love dressing up for.  Check out these mix of shots collected both from do512 and my friend, Natalie, below.  Hooray for Fashion!

I am an avid fan of train cases and currently have a small collection of vintage ones passed down by the wonderful women in my family.  That being said, I am frankly enamored  with the Louis Vuitton ad campaign for the F/W 2012 season.  The detail paid to this campaign is absolutely stunning; feathered hats, plush gloves, playful prints, whimsical glasses, over the top buttons... it's like traveling in a dream land!  It also doesn't help that all of the handbags remind me of my favorite accessory... goodness I can't wait to travel this season!

Sunny Side Up

I have always loved the color yellow and am so excited to see it everywhere this season.  It puts a smile on my face every time I wear it!  Here are some yellow inspiration boards to get your bright ideas flowing.

My How Time Flies!

I apologize for yet another unexpected delay between posts!  I have spent the past 5 weeks training as a dance instructor, and it took ALL of my free time.  Totally random I know, however it was a complete blast.  In about 2 weeks I will begin teaching Two Step at one of my favorite watering holes in town, and Salsa and Swing are sure to follow once I lock down a few venues.  And now that summer is officially here I have a few photo shoots scheduled to document my favorite pieces of the season.  So stay tuned my loyal few, I have lots coming your way!

Summer Shorts

My co worker came in today wearing a pair of floral print jean shorts almost identical to these;

When I saw these today, and the many times I've seen them in recent fashion print, I have to admit I was reminded of my elementary school days.  They say fashion cycles come around every 20 years or so which would put the floral print denim trend right on time.  Initially I laughed when I saw them; merely out of nostalgic amusement.  However as the day passed I found myself completely intrigued and thinking of getting a pair for myself.  I started an online search and found a few that I think perfectly walk that line of youthful innocence and playful sexy.

I even came across these with with label 'Vintage'... can't believe I'm finally at the age when my old clothes can be called vintage!

And probably my favorite find are these Free People cutoffs.  I like the large, bold print, and the distressed detail.  Just a step outside the norm for this fast growing trend.

Newest Obsession- Tom Binn!

I have never been one to wear very traditional jewelry.  Those who see me often will typically find me wearing a necklace with random trinkets like brass knuckles and safety pins, to pocket watches and sailboats.  With this preferred jewelry aesthetic I must admit that I have recently become obsessed with Tom Binn Designs.  All the pieces below are currently featured on his website, and I swoon over them all.

And although this one is a bit flashy for me, I adore how tangled it is!!

A Day at The Races

With the Kentucky Derby only a week away I have been getting so excited about my outfit for the festivities.  For you South Austinites, you should enjoy the fancy fun next weekend at The Highball on S Lamar.  I will be in Houston for the weekend rockin this hat below (and lovin the little derby nod with my horseshoe necklace).  Can't wait!

Round Up Ready!

This weekend was the fantastic Lone Star Round Up and I thoroughly enjoyed dressing for the festivities.

Calvin Klein dress, gifted belt from Trash and Garnish, and the shoes were a wonderful thrift find.
